Students will not be permitted to wear former Georgia Tech regalia (plain black robes) at the ceremony. Caps and gowns can be purchased up until the week of Commencement.

GT Savannah Graduates

All GT Savannah graduates should order their cap and gowns through the BuzzStore on the Savannah Campus. For more information, call 866.402.0544.

Line-Up Information

All undergraduate candidates will line up in the Freshman Gym. Please enter the Coliseum via Gate 2, where volunteers and signs will direct you to the Freshman Gym. Please arrive an hour before your ceremony in your cap and gown. Make sure the tassel is attached to the cap and hung to the right side. Upon entering the line-up area, pick up a program from the table and form a line behind the marker for your college.

School faculty representatives will distribute a numbered card to each candidate with his or her name and degree information. Candidates must line up in numerical order in accordance with the number that appears on the card. You must keep this name card until the card is given to a faculty announcer on stage. Please do not change places in line after the name cards have been distributed. When it is determined that everyone is ready to proceed, Commencement guides will lead the lines of candidates into the ceremony. Any candidate arriving after the processional has begun must immediately find an official from the Registrar's Office for placement.

Recognition of Bachelor's Degree Candidates

After degrees are conferred, the president will ask the candidates to advance to the platform to be recognized individually. Each candidate will proceed to the stage where he/she will receive a memento from the dean and shake hands with the president. The candidate will then continue across the stage and pose for a photograph. Afterwards, the candidate will then return to his/her original row and may be seated.

Commencement is a special event for all involved. Please show respect for everyone who has come to share in the experience. Individuals who engage in inappropriate or disruptive behavior will be removed from the event. All cell phones and pagers must be turned off before entering the event facility and must remain turned off throughout the entire ceremony. Please show respect for other graduates by remaining in your seat until the end of the ceremony.

Absolutely no alcoholic beverages are allowed in or around the ceremony area. Anyone violating this code will be removed from the event.
