Different parking lots are assigned to each Commencement event. Events and designated parking areas are listed below. Parking costs vary by lot.

Guest Drop-Off and Handicap Parking for All Ceremonies

  • All guest drop-off and pick-up is at the Louise and Leo Benatar Entrance, located off 10th Street.
  • Guests with a valid handicap parking tag may park on 8th street and in E65, behind McCamish Pavilion.

Traffic Alerts

We expect a high volume of traffic in the area. Please plan accordingly and allow extra time for parking.

Ph.D. Hooding, 10-11:30 a.m., McCamish Pavilion

  • Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center, or Centergy Lot, or Area 6 or Area 8 (Tech Square)
  • ER66 (Graduate Living Lot)
  • Area 5 (State Street)

President’s Graduation Celebration, 3-5 p.m., Tech Tower Lawn (Rain Location: Student Center Commons)

** Due to construction, this event location has moved to Tech Tower Lawn, located at 225 North Avenue.** Guests are encouraged to park in the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center parking deck (E81) and take advantage of our complimentary shuttle service. For guests needing assistance, the E45 and Area 1 lots will have handicap parking spaces available.

  • Area 1 and the grassy area to the right of E49 at the corner of Techwood Drive and North Avenue (must be accessed off of Techwood Drive across from the North Avenue Apartments)
  • Areas 2 & 3 (Student Center lots off of Ferst Drive) 
  • E82 - Centergy lot

Friday Shuttle Service to President's Graduation Celebration & McCamish Pavilion

2:30-5:30 p.m.
  • Shuttles will transport guests who park in the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center (E81) or Centergy (E82) parking decks to the President’s Graduation Celebration.
  • The shuttles will pick up in the hotel’s turnaround area located across from the Scheller College of Business on Spring Street.
  • After 5:30 p.m., no shuttles will run near the Tech Tower Lawn, so please plan accordingly.

4:30-10:30 p.m.
  • Shuttles will transport guests from the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center parking deck to McCamish Pavilion.
  • This dedicated shuttle will stop operating one hour after the Friday ceremony ends.

Attending both the President’s Graduation Celebration and the Ph.D. and Master's Ceremony?

You are encouraged to park in the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center parking area (E81 or E82 Centergy lot) and use the shuttles.

Traffic Alerts

We expect a high amount of traffic in the area. Please plan accordingly and leave extra time for parking.


  • Fowler Street will be southbound only.
    • Guests entering campus via Fifth Street or North Avenue should park in Tech Square.
    • Guests entering campus via 10th Street will be directed to E52 (Peters Parking Deck) and E40 (Klaus Parking Deck).
  • There is no shuttle service on Saturday.
  • There is a softball and baseball game Saturday afternoon.
    • Guests may be delayed leaving the Bachelor's Afternoon ceremony due to incoming traffic for nearby sporting events.

Bachelor’s Morning Ceremony, 9-11:30 a.m., McCamish Pavilion

  • Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center, or Centergy Lot, or Area 6 or Area 8 (Tech Square)
  • ER66 (Graduate Living Lot)
  • E52 (Peters Parking Deck)

Guests are encouraged to enter campus via the North Avenue exit. 

Bachelor’s Afternoon Ceremony, 3-5:30 p.m., McCamish Pavilion

  • Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center, or Centergy Lot, or Area 6 or Area 8 (Tech Square)
  • ER66 (Graduate Living Lot)
  • E44 (Klaus Deck)
  • E52 (Peters Parking Deck)

Guests are encouraged to enter campus via the North Avenue exit. 

Faculty Parking

All faculty and staff volunteers will receive a reserved parking pass two weeks prior to the event.

Parking at McCamish is extremely limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Faculty and staff assisting at the graduate ceremony are encouraged to walk to the ceremony.

Public Transportation

Georgia Tech is served by two MARTA rail stations: the North Avenue Station and the Midtown Station. The closest station to the Commencement ceremonies is the Midtown Station. The closest station to the President's Graduation Celebration is the North Avenue Station. Tech Trolley makes continuous pick-ups from the Midtown Station to campus.
